DeVry University In-person Learning resumed in May 2022 Session.

DeVry began holding in-person classes during the May 2022 session. To reduce risk, our campuses and students’ course meeting schedules may be modified as needed in an effort to limit the time students are on campus. Students will be notified prior to a change in their course meeting schedule.

Here’s what’s most important for students to know:

• By following the principles DeVry University set forth to guide when it would be safe to resume in-person learning, DeVry’s Administration and Board of Trustees believe we are at point where we can safely maintain in-person learning.
  
  
• DeVry will continue to monitor COVID-19 and follow the guidance from state and federal governments, as well as Centers for Disease Control.

On March 11, 2021 the American Rescue Plan, 2021 (ARP) was signed into law. This law established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III), providing additional funding available to institutions of higher learning. DeVry University (DVU) received and acknowledged the Grant Award Notification and signed the institution certification form on August 6, 2021, with our assurance that DVU will award 100% of the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to eligible students. As of June 30, 2022, we have received $2,082,379 in grant funding for this purpose.

The institution identified 16,355 students potentially eligible to receive the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. As of June 30, 2022, 8,880 students have received an emergency grant. Total amount of grant funds disbursed to students at this time is $2,082,379.

To be considered for HEERF III funds, DVU will utilize a request form where potentially eligible students confirmed any unexpected expenses that may have been incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic such as expenses for food, housing, course materials and technology, and healthcare, including mental health and childcare. In addition to completing the request form, students must have been enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program of study in the September 2021 session and have a valid 2021–2022 ISIR on file with an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of 0-6500. Twenty students did not claim their HEERF II Funds in our initial allocation and they were reallocated to 20 other students. The eligibility criteria used for the reallocation mirrored the initial allocation requirements, but the student must have been enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program of study in the May 2022 session instead of the September 2021 session.

DVU determined that the most equitable way to disburse these grant funds to our impacted students was to divide our total allocation among the eligible students who completed the request form.

On December 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act2021 (CRRSAA) was signed into law. This law established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II), providing additional funding available to institutions of higher learning. DeVry University (DVU) received and acknowledged the Grant Award Notification (GAN) on January 19, 2021 with our assurance that DVU will use 100% of the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to eligible students. As of September 30, 2021, we have received $4,369,519 in grant funding for this purpose.

The institution identified 16,816 students potentially eligible to receive the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. As of June 30, 2022, 6,806 students have received an emergency grant. Total amount of grant funds disbursed to students at this time is $4,369,519.

In addition to completing the request form, students must have been enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program of study in the March 2021 session and have a valid 2020-2021 or 2021-2022 ISIR on file with an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of 0-5800 for initial allocation of HEERF II.  8 students did not claim their HEERF II Funds in our initial allocation and they were reallocated to 8 other students. The eligibility criteria used for the reallocation mirrored the initial allocation requirements but the student must have been enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program of study in the March 2022 session instead of the March 2021 session.

CARES ACT SECTION 18004(a) Quarterly Budget and Expenditure Reporting

Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management were authorized to provide a limited amount of Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Emergency Aid for students who are experiencing financial hardship or unexpected expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible students were contacted by DeVry University via email to complete the FSEOG Emergency Aid Request Form and all available funds were successfully awarded.
